Vet Help

killuminati-foundation_b-w-150x1504

One of the Killuminati Foundation’s main areas of focus is to help with medical assistance for families who find themselves in financial struggle to get non-routine medical attention for their dog. Families in Missouri can apply for financial assistance when a dog is in need. If approved the Killuminati Foundation, will pay up to (not exceeding) half of the total cost of the treatment. Checks will be made out the treating veterinarian. (Assistance will not be given for routine procedures, vaccinations, or spayed/neutering – although all are very important for responsible dog care - we recommend contacting your local low cost clinic.) Applications will be reviewed and voted on by our Board of Directors, and financial assistance will be awarded based on need and availability.

Only applications for dogs in need of serious vet care will be considered. All applications will be verified with the treating veterinarian. Please be sure to fill out the form in its entirety or your application will not be considered. If chosen for financial assistance, we require your family to sign consent for the Killuminati Foundation to follow up with you and your dog for a minimum of one year. No families may reapply for the same dog within one of receiving any financial assistance.

Rescues and other shelter groups can apply for aid once per quarter under the normal guidelines. Any more applications after that will have a maximum grant opportunity of $100 per dog/application.

If you have further questions on whether or not your dog may qualify, AND TO GET A FULL COPY OF OUR GUIDELINES AND AN APPLICATION, please email us at: inspirelives@yahoo.com.

Meet Tigger Two & Vicki!!

Vicki is a cancer survivor who has had her share of trial and tribulations throughout her life….she has beaten cancer, has diabetes, and was facing two surgeries of her own when we met. Vicki lives alone in a disabled apartment community with her best buddy, Tigger Two. Tig had ruptured his knee cap and needed an in-depth, expensive surgery which Vicki could not afford on her fixed income. Her family and many others told her to put Tigger Two down and get another dog. Vicki refused and was determined to get Tigger Two the medical treatment he needed. Vicki put up flyers in her apartment building, local businesses, and other locations taking up a collection to help raise money for the surgery. That’s when Vicki heard about the Killuminati Foundation and applied to us for aid. Our hearts went out to Vicki and Tigger Two, and the Killuminati Foundation was thrilled to help!! After Tigger’s surgery, Camp Bow Wow agreed to take him for after surgery care until he was well enough for Vicki to take him home. We are happy to say that Vicki and Tigger Two are both doing well and looking forward to a long, happy life together.

Payton’s Inspiration for our Vet Assistance Program!!

People always say that it’s great how when you adopt a dog you save its life. But to be honest with you, when I adopted my first dog – Payton – he has definitely returned the favor. Payton is one of my inspirations for starting the Killuminati Foundation. In July of 2007, Payton ruptured a ligament in his leg and broke a bone during a Frisbee accident. We had every complication you can imagine, including issues with the surgeon, the incision becoming infected, and one of the pins from his surgery came out through his leg. It was horrible. Two nights after his surgery, I remember watching Payton sleep for what seemed like an eternity. I felt comfort in the solitude of knowing that as long as he was sleeping, in that moment nothing could hurt him. I remember so many people around me saying that I was crazy for spending $3,000 for his surgery – that I should have put him to sleep and kept the money. Then I thought about how Payton has been the one constant in my life offering me stability and strength – a gentle smile and an escape from reality. Payton was there through my Mom’s battle with Cancer; the 13-hour road trip to reconcile with my Dad; the night I argued with my ex-boyfriend. And through each of life’s trials,  as I cried, Payton licked my tears. I thought about all the days I come home completely exhausted and beat up from the world – and every time Payton can barely contain his excitement to see me – every time without fail. I think how he is the one constant in my life and how his companionship is worth so much more than any dollar amount. People ask how could I spend that much – I respond, how could I not?
